Enough with the phony witch hunts and the steady stream of hoaxes on the American people. Enough! Get off our president’s back and let him do his job.
It is a well-known fact that this president (Donald Trump) is directly responsible for lowering the unemployment rate to historic lows and the overall economy has never, I repeat never, been better.
Granted, it was former President Barack Obama who rescued the economy from the George Bush recession of 2008 and began the economy’s healthy upward trajectory, but that was then, and this is now.
True, 63% of the benefits of the Trump tax plan enacted in December of 2017 went to the top 1% of income, and 83% of the benefit went to the top one-tenth of 1% of revenue and that 90% of that tax benefit resulted in stock buybacks and not reinvestment in the workers, and income inequality is at all-time highs. However, the trickle-down effect is on its way. Just be a little patient. It is coming. Not only Trump but Ronald Reagan from his grave is guaranteeing the trickle-down is coming.
Besides, look at the unemployment rate. This has got to be a big win for our president. Right?
It is near historic numbers. It was not too long ago that people were desperately looking for jobs that were not there.
Now, the same people have two, three, or sometimes even four jobs to make ends meet. The number of jobs an individual can have to make ends meet is endless. Thank you, Mr. President. Someday, maybe rising wages will keep up with increasing stock option buybacks. Maybe. Maybe in November of 2020.
Thank you, too, Mr. President, for eliminating all of those burdensome regulations. How is a conglomerate supposed to run a profitable business if they cannot dump waste into our water system or pollute our air with carbon emissions?
Asking citizens to breathe polluted air or drink contaminated water as we all too often did before Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and their enforcement is a small sacrifice to make if it means a more robust economy…and more stock option buybacks.
Also, get off our president’s back with this phony impeachment nonsense.
The president of the United States is the most powerful person in the country, maybe the world. If he cannot use that power for personal benefit, then what is the advantage of being the most powerful person on Earth?
Was it really so terrible for him to leverage that power to seek a little extra help in his re-election from a desperate leader of another nation? If the president of the United States cannot use $391 million in desperately needed military aid as a bargaining chip to get just a little help from a foreign nation to help him smear his political rival, then what is the benefit of being president? Really now?
So what if the founding fathers of this nation, the framers of the Constitution, were overly concerned about foreign interference in our elections?
The founding fathers were a bit, and I should say, paranoid about King George III. Again, that was then and this is now. Besides, who said our founding fathers were so bright? You think the delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 were so bright? Alexander Hamilton got himself killed in a gunfight with Aaron Burr. How bright was that? When the colonies sent their delegates to the Constitutional Convention, “… they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with them. They are bringing drugs, they are bringing crime, they’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
So enough of relying on the so-called wisdom of our founding fathers and the Constitution.
It is common knowledge that the only amendment to the Constitution that is worthy of obeying is, of course, the Second Amendment and it is only that amendment because it, unlike all of the others, was handed down from Mount Sinai, or was it Mount Olympus? I forget which.
As for the other articles and amendments of the Constitution, who needs freedom of the press when we have a president who tells us what we need to know and believe? Who needs freedom of religion?
A person should be able to only sell to people of their own religion. If a person of another faith wants to purchase a product, then he or she always has the option of converting to the “preferred” religion.
I think the current official religion of the United States is “Christianity.” See, here is another example of the lack of wisdom of our founding fathers: They did not even think of putting an official religion in the Constitution. How shortsighted is that?
Why did it have to take this president to finally clarify that Judaism is not even a religion, rather, that it’s a race or a nationality or both? Who knew?
I did not. Thank you once again, Mr. President, for your great insight…or is it incite?
Oh, and regarding the president’s refusal to cooperate with Congress regarding subpoenas, he is the president. Congress should show some respect. As Richard Nixon so famously said, “If the president does it, it is not illegal.”
