NORTH BETHESDA — The Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas varsity football team recaptured the Davis-Fegan Cup on Saturday night against their rival, the Landon Bears.
Georgetown Prep senior quarterback Peter Davin threw a pair of touchdown passes and highly-touted junior tailback Jalen Hampton rushed for a pair of scores to lead the Little Hoyas to a 28-0 victory over previously unbeaten Landon.
“When I was running the ball,” Davin explained afterward, “[Jalen] opened all that up. I think he’s one of the best running backs in the DMV, maybe the entire country. I love having him in my backfield.”
Hampton scored on a six-yard run in the first quarter and later scored on a 54-yard run before intermission. Davin threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Johnston in the first quarter and connected with Finn Muldoon to give the Little Hoyas a 21-0 advantage early in the second quarter.
Georgetown Prep, who improved to 5-1, avenged last year’s seven-point loss to Landon (6-1) and knocked the Bears from the ranks of the unbeaten.
