An arsenal of weapons including an AR-15 assault rifle, grenades, a landmine detonator and revolvers were found inside the home of a Clarksburg High School student arrested last week for bringing a loaded Glock firearm to school.
District Court Judge John C. Moffett said there was clear and convincing evidence that Alwin Chen was a serious danger to the community and ordered Chen to remain in jail without bond.
A police officer speaking on behalf of the state’s attorney’s office said that during the execution of a search warrant, a list of people with whom Chen bore grievances and wanted to harm was also found.
A court ordered a mental health evaluation will be conducted to determine Chen’s mental fitness.
Chen’s defense attorney David Felsen said the weapons found in the Chen family home were not found in Chen’s bedroom and that the weapons were all legally obtained.
Felsen would not say who owned the weapons.
