A train derailed outside a central Red Line Metro station Monday morning, a Metro official said in a recorded announcement.
Metro spokesperson Sherri Ly confirmed that a Red Line train transporting 60 passengers derailed outside Farragut North Station at 6:40 a.m. No one was injured. All passengers evacuated by 8:30 a.m.
Buses will replace trains between Dupont Circle and Judiciary Square stations until further notice. The derailment caused delays in both directions on the Red Line.
