Former Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Audrey Creighton accused a County District Court judge of being biased against her in a recent DUI case.
Creighton said Judge Jeannie Cho should recuse herself of the case because of an oral statement Cho gave to Carol Crawford, who is part of the investigative counsel of the judicial disabilities commission.
The former judge brought up Cho’s application for a position as Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge, a position Creighton previously held before her resignation earlier this year.
“You have applied for that position in the past, and will probably be applying in the future,” said Creighton.
Creighton also mentioned Cho’s allegation that Creighton’s marriage was a “sham to get on the bench” and that officers told Cho there was a “lingering odor of pot at my [Creighton’s] house.”
She said Cho lied in her statement and that it showed personal bias against her.
“I’m satisfied that I would be fair and impartial in being able to hear your case and so your request is denied,” said Cho.
Creighton then asked for a jury trial.
