Montgomery County homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 55-year-old Gaithersburg man who was stabbed to death Saturday night inside his Gaithersburg home.
Just before 5 p.m. county fire and police units responded to the 24100 block of Grove Lane in Gaithersburg for a reported stabbing.
Upon arrival they found Russell David suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
“The victim’s nephew, Andrew David, 18, called 911 to report the incident,” said Montgomery County Police spokesperson Captain Paul Starks. “During our investigation it was determined that the victim and the nephew got into an altercation prior to the stabbing.”
Starks said the nephew was taken to the MCPD homicide unit for questioning and was later released to a family member.
The homicide is an ongoing investigation. Detectives continue to examine forensic evidence and are awaiting the Medical Examiner’s findings. No criminal charges have been determined at this time.
